When I look at PM Dawn’s fashion decisions, I think, “Just Say No”.  When I listen to “Set Adrift On Memory Bliss”, I think, “Puff, puff, pass”.  Who doesn’t love a hypercolor dashiki?!?!  G-dammit, I love these guys!

One of my all time fave bands - Y O U!  These guys are one of the most underrated bands in the country.  A group that is overflowing with talent, yet whose members are most popular in Atlanta by their alter-ego/pseudonymn Yacht Rock.  Yacht Rock is a super popular cover band that is comprised of Y O U members and then some.  It’s the all too familiar story of popular art financing the artists’ real passion. Hello Ocean’s 11, 12, 13, etc. and Mr. Soderbergh.

I mean, seriously - listen to “Going Down Swinging” and tell me you don’t think of Beck’s Sea Change.  “Honest Man” is abeautifully written, bluesy proclamation of love, and “Moviekiss” is not only a kick ass song, but the video is insanely amazing.  Check it out here - http://www.pleaserock.com/media.php

i would be remiss if i didn’t mention Passion Pit - one of, if not, the best new band of 2009.  i mainlined this album for a solid 6 weeks and continue to rock the shit out of it on a weekly basis.

Hey Ya - best cover i’ve heard since Sonic Youth covered Superstar.  OKay, maybe not quite that good…okay, fine, one is a classic, one has the potential to become one…still, it’s a great f’ing cover.  Fantastic job, Obadiah…fantastic name too.
